O papel da atenção primária à saúde no enfrentamento de IST

Primary Care (PC) is the user's preferred gateway to the Unified Health System (UHS). It is from there that we will be able to have more and more diagnoses and early treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STI), such as hepatitis B and C, HIV and syphilis. To report experience acting realized with users of the basic unit (BU) on STI theme for to improve adhesion care and minimize risks of STI. It was a descriptive study of experience report type, developed during practice activity of medicine students at BU Jardim Brasil V, in Olinda-PE. 20 users of BU participated considering pandemic time. A screening with rapid tests (RT) for hepatitis B and C, HIV and syphilis, information’s and recommendation’s STI were realized. The most people were female, 15% presented positive (syphilis). None them had been tested before. Only 15% had knowledge of RT and understanding those significance. The immediate care of a person with STI is not only a curative action, but also aims at interrupting the transmission chain and preventing other STI and complications resulting from diseases.
