The foramen ovale is a structure present in the fetal period that allows a bypass of the non-functional pulmonary circulation in this period. In about 20%-25% of the population, the foramen ovale remains, which can have clinical repercussions. The present study aims to report a case of patent foramen ovale and discuss the main updates in the management of specified patients of this condition. In recent years, notables have revised study definitions and institutional management to be followed when making patient decisions. The interdisciplinarity in the adjusted decision making and the adjustment adjustment is indisputable the individual patient risk must take into account factors such as clinical characteristics, imaging anatomies.
